DATA PROCESSING MANAGER III, (ANCHORAGE)
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources is recruiting for a Data Processing Manager III to lead the department's Information Resource Management section. This position has primary responsibility for the design, establishment, testing, modification, monitoring and maintenance of technology solutions and land record systems critical to the success of daily operations and resource use decisions. The DPM III provides leadership to 5 managers and 37 staff, including analyst programmers, cartographers, and microcomputer/network specialists, and interacts regularly with IT professionals in other agencies. This is a management position that requires a level of technical expertise necessary to make sound decisions with regard to IT strategies and solutions, some of which commit the state to multi-million dollar projects. The ideal candidate will have experience managing IT professionals; ability to work with a complex budget; strong organizational skills for meeting deadlines; a high degree of written and oral communication skills; and a "can do" customer-service attitude to meet the needs of a large and diverse agency. Experience with development, negotiation and management of contracts and grants is a plus. (Starting salary $80,496 or more DOE.)
