Established in 1989, CALIBRE is an employee-owned management and technology services company. CALIBRE builds and delivers practical, timely, best value solutions to solve management, technology, and program challenges. We serve customers in the public and private sectors - defense, federal civil, state and local government, and commercial. We share ownership of their missions. We are connected through the solutions we provide and the relationships we cultivate. We are committed to their success.
CALIBRE believes it is essential to be active and helpful members of the communities in which we live and work. We engage in a wide variety of activities that uphold this philosophy and indeed capture it in our Strategic Plan as one of our six corporate objectives...Be Good Citizens.
CALIBRE is recognized as a great place to work! We were recently rated #6 among the 25 Best Medium Companies to Work for in America by the Great Place to Work Institute (GPTW) and the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). We also received the "Outstanding Contribution by a Business" Award from the Virginia Transit Association as well as recognition from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) as one of the "Best Workplaces for CommutersSM". CALIBRE has also been recognized both locally and nationally as an employee-owned company, winning the ESOP Association's "Annual Award for Communications Excellence (AACE)" in 2004, 2005, and 2007 as well as the "ESOP Company of the Year" award from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the ESOP Association in 2004. CALIBRE was also the winner of the National Center for Employee Ownership’s "Innovations in Employee Ownership" in 2006.
CALIBRE is more than just a place to work.
You will find an exciting environment at CALIBRE that is full of opportunities for personal and professional growth. You will also discover a positive and friendly corporate culture where good work is both encouraged and rewarded. CALIBRE also provides many occasions to have fun and contribute to the community.
We work and play hard together as a team.
The “CALIBRE Attitude and Morale Patrol” (CAMP) is a group of employee volunteers responsible for organizing a wide range of social gatherings, recreational events, and community outreach activities for employees and their families. This includes ice cream socials, potluck lunches, and chili cook-offs held at work periodically throughout the year. Outside of work, we enjoy ourselves at the annual company picnic, holiday dinner, and golf tournament; the rafting trips and hikes in local national parks; and outings to major and minor league baseball games…just to name a few. Many of us also play on the CALIBRE softball team or take part in after-work basketball.
We practice good citizenship and community outreach.
The notion of “being a good citizen” is so important at CALIBRE that we have made it one of our six corporate objectives. We participate in a wide variety of community outreach activities including hosting blood drives for the American Red Cross, participating in the Adopt-a-Highway program, supporting the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, partnering with a local school for tutoring and other support, and participating in numerous other charitable events and programs. We also support our employees who serve as National Guard and Reserve soldiers. We continually strive to be good members of our local communities and seek opportunities to make useful contributions.
CALIBRE builds and delivers practical, timely, best value solutions to solve management, technology, and program challenges.
