St. John’s has been the leading health care provider throughout the Four-State area for over 100 years. Our medical staff consists of over 250 physicians and dentists who offer a wide range of medical expertise. Working with these physicians are over 2,200 skilled employees. Over 600 volunteers help provide hospital services, and over 50 area leaders serve on our hospital boards and committees.

As a leader in health care, we are continually seeking ways to improve policies, procedures and methods to ensure the health and safety of our patients and their families. As a result, we have earned the Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Accreditation by JCAHO is the recognized benchmark for excellence in health care and St. John’s is the only hospital in Joplin that currently holds this distinction.
